St Anne’s presents ‘Shrek the Musical JNR’
Gippsland Grammar St Anne’s Campus will present Shrek the Musical JR in August.
Students in Year 3-6 has been busy rehearsing and now that it is nearly time to hit the stage excitement is immense.
Performances will be held at The Wedge Performing Arts Centre Sale on August 25 and 26 with a matinee and evening shows. Everyone is welcome and tickets are available from The Wedge Box Office, both in person and online here.
Gippsland Grammar students Matthew Canfield as Lord Farquaad, Hannah Mack as Princess Fiona, Oscar Callanan as Donkey, Ashton Carroll as Shrek and Dillon Meredith as Gingy in ‘Shrek The Musical JR’ on show at The Wedge in late August.
It’s a “Big Bright Beautiful World” as everyone’s favourite ogre Shrek leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.
Shrek the Musical JNR is based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig from the Broadway Junior Collection.
In the St Anne’s production, Shrek is being played by Year 5 student Ashton Carroll and Princess Fiona is Hannah Mack, also in Year 5. But, as was the case with the original movie, of course Donkey played by Year 6 student Oscar Callanan steals the show.
Director Katie Germaine said it would be a spectacular journey through the land of fairytales and encouraged the community to get behind these amazingly talented student performers.
