Gippsland Grammar Bairnsdale Junior Campus will hold an Open Day on Saturday May 1 from 9-11am.

The Open Day provides a valuable opportunity for East Gippsland families to take a closer look at one of the region’s leading schools, which welcomes three and four year students to its Early Learning Centre program and to Year 6 at Bairnsdale and senior students and boarders from Years 7-12 at its Garnsey Campus located in Sale.

Gippsland Grammar Principal Leisa Harper, Bairnsdale Head of Campus Virginia Evans and Early Learning Centre Director Lisa Burgess will all be available throughout the Open Day to welcome families to the Wy Yung campus which offers picturesque views of the Mitchell River. School Prefects and junior leaders will also be on hand to answer questions.

A highlight of the Open Day will be the opportunity for families to explore Bairnsdale’s Early Learning Centre, which offers a three-year-old ‘Reception’ program and a four-year-old ‘Transition’ program and is rated as ‘exceeding’ the National Quality Standard.

ELC Director Lisa Burgess said the Open Day was a valuable opportunity for parents, carers and children to explore the sensory-driven and educational-focussed space.

“At the ELC we offer high-quality exceptional early childhood programs beginning at age three,” Mrs Burgess said. “Our team of teachers ensure our students are nurtured, challenged and extended to become positive, curious and life-long learners.”

ELC students follow a timetable that draws inspiration from classes offered throughout the primary school including Music, Library, Japanese and Physical Education.

Head of Bairnsdale Campus Virginia Evans said she was looking forward to welcoming all East Gippsland families to the Open Day.

“I look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Bairnsdale Campus whether you are a former student or a family visiting for the first time.

“You can see for yourself our Early Learning Centre, explore the Foundation classroom and meet teachers, discover the opportunities offered in our co-curriculum program and understand the value of the seamless transition from the ELC up to the senior years.
